When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

My most recent - raffled on the 6th June - and a very happy winner took it home. A perfect day on the sea - I think I'm always seeking to capture my best memories of sailing as a child/teen. They were so peaceful. Oils on canvas 10x12 inches. Image/Artwork Copyright (c) to Danielle Hicks-Gallagher Comments
Nice to see you back and dAing. The detail in this painting is brilliant. I actually thought it was a photo at first glance. The sail's slightly cut off on the left which is a shame but the water effects and the little people inside the boat are great. Oh, and I haven't switched Newcastles yet. Still need to get a loan and accommodation and stuff. Maybe I should just go up and pitch a tent somewhere...

The sail is the way it is on the canvas, pretty much - it kinda goes round the edge a little. A design flaw. I was happy with the water though, and the shapes of the people, although I'd have needed it to be a bigger painting to really get their details. Hopefully I'll be on a bit more... but not too much, because I have a couple of part time courses to do, and paintings to paint and a garden to mind... (veggies good!) -- Make a worthwhile comment! What a beautifully relaxing scene. Gorgeous work.
