I got a pleasing email through from the ArtWanted team today:

We hope you enjoy the extra exposure from being featured in next year's printed calendar!

Very happy about that, I must say.

Meanwhile, I'm working hard, both on getting set up in business, and at college. The new website is up and running: C-Arts.co.uk and I semi-regularly update the blog with any related news I might have. Normally pics from my sketchbooks. I'm also working on being active on etsy - necklaces will be for sale there soon.

Some day soon I'll update my membership here and get active again - but there is just so much to do and so little time (so what else is new?)

Just getting the hang of this promoting oneself on facebook...

Also, my official wesbite should be live pretty soon, c-arts.co.uk - the Official Website for Chameleon Arts. (designed by Level7 webdesign)

Other than that, I'm busy making necklaces, and deisgning a programme for the end of an MA performace. It's in the form of a map, and is great fun to do...

Well, I thought that last entry was just so out of date, I'd better do something about it...

Finished my course - did really well, with a Distinction (can't get any higher). Had a two week exhibition in a good Gallery, which was great.

Now I'm just trying to catch up with life... I spent the last 2 months constantly drawing and painting horses, and not seeing many folks, or doing anything other than think about horses, so now it will be nice to catch up. Meanwhile, I've also some new paintings planned; want to get them started this weekend.

And if you've just recived a thank you from me, and you don't know why, it's because I was going through my activity messages thinking "oh dear, I should have said thank you to (that person) months ago..." (and if I've missed you out, i apologise even more!)

Textile Artists? Thoughts please!

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 16, 2008, 9:43 AM
Would you like a devWatch?

This came from Vilhelmina’s Journal awhile back – and I gather she got it from $Lolly. However…

The rules are simple… if you would like a devwatch, comment on this journal and add me to your devwatch list, and I will come and do the same for you!

Hopefully I may get to see some stunning work I would never have seen otherwise! :) and I hope to keep this up for a while.

Well hello! How's things?

I'm going to keep this relatively short, as time is a commodity I do not have much of...

Art College is going really well - I've had two assessments so far - Drawing, and Painting - and I passed really well in both of them. I have been putting in 18 hour (working) days more often and not though... (between time in college, at work, travelling back and forth, housework and homework...)
Anyhoo. Now we're on to textiles, which is something I've not done much of before. It's lead on from Collage, and I'm working on some textile pieces quite similar to my collage pieces I've posted on here. The question is, are there any artists out there I can use as contextual research for this, because so far, I'm a bit stuck! So, do you know of any textile/collage artists who use charts/poems/sea shanties/hand made papers/bright colours and-or dyes/acetate layers/free style sewing (or a mix of the above) in their work? Please, if you do, drop me a line...

And I'll get back to trying to get the cold water dye off my hands... they're very green at the moment.

Hidihi folks,

I just want to apologise for how much I have not been online - between work, family commitments, sailing commitments, and my problem laptop... it just hasn't been happening.

So if you get a couple of unexplained favourites from me, without a comment, I do apologise - I want to get through the 3000 images on my watch - and I just do not have the time for commenting every single one, or anything near that.

Hopefully, some day, I will actually have a bit more time on here... :)
